What is the ILIAA?

ILIAA stands for Independent Life Insurance Agent Association, and we’re just what we say we are – a professional association of life insurance agents with a single focus: improving the production, and therefore cash flow, of all of our members.

How do you do this?

At the ILIAA, we work in three ways to provide benefits to you, the agent:

1. Power In Numbers

There is strength in numbers, and the ILIAA harnesses the size of its member base to petition carriers for webinars, advance notice of new product rollouts, and underwriting information and guidelines normally made available only to General Agents. In the future, it’s our hope that the ILIAA will also be able to harness its member base to provide discounts to members on several services used by life insurance agents nationwide.

2. Combined experience

There’s no sense in re-inventing the wheel every time you go out on a life insurance appointment, and the ILIAA knows it. That’s why we’re thrilled to be able to pool the years of experience shared by all of our members so that you’ve always got somewhere to go with your most important life insurance questions. Not sure where an insulin-dependent diabetic should go? Need help figuring out the best approach to take when talking with shared internet leads? Want to bounce a new mailer off of some folks who have done countless mailers themselves? From initial call to policy delivery, there’s an expert on every subject at the ILIAA.

3. Increasing your commissions.

What’s the quickest way to make more money? Raise your commission! At the ILIAA, we know that the difference between an 80% commission and a 100% commission can be huge. While you’re never, ever obligated to contract through the ILIAA, we do have high-level contracts available if you’re interested. Because the administrators of the ILIAA personally write business, just like you, not only do we know what it’s like out there but we’ve already done the hard work of negotiating higher contracts – and as an ILIAA member you’ll have access to those big numbers. It’s a sweet, sweet feeling to make a 120% commission!

Do I have to contract with the ILIAA in order to be a member?

No! We strongly believe in agent independence, and we strongly believe that the benefits of the ILIAA should be open to all. The training and information you can find here is second-to-none in the life insurance business, and we would never want to deny anyone that just because they’ve already got a GA with whom they’re satisfied. However, if you want to look at your contracts and see if you can make a little extra cash by going with us, you’re more than welcome to. As an added bonus, if you produce business using ILIAA contracts, your membership fees will be waived!

Are you in bed with any of the big insurance companies or recruiters?

Not at all. Every insurance company has their strengths and their weaknesses, and it’s our goal to help you master those so that you’re well ahead of the game. The ILIAA does not endorse any one insurance company over the other, but we do recognize that certain companies can be a better choice than others for certain situations. We’re also not going to aggressively recruit you – as an ILIAA member, you know that high-level contracts are available to you, and we trust that if you want to take a look at them then you’ll have the initiative to contact us.

Aside from the webinars, the training, the forum support, and the agent community, what kind of support do you provide to your agents?

We realize that there can be some pretty wild twists and turns in the life insurance business, and that you might need help when you’re not near your computer. That’s why the ILIAA provides phone support twelve hours a day every weekday, and email support seven days a week. Going out into the field for a little B2B walking and need some last-minute pointers? We’re here to help! The administrators of the ILIAA have an open-door policy, and we realize that the Association lives and dies on the satisfaction of its individual agents.
